Peri-menses symptoms: You should get a pap, bacterial culture, bloodwork and a pelvic ultrasound. Those tests can rule out pregnancy, cancer, infection and ovarian cysts. Severe pms may benefit from antidepressant meds not because you are depressed but due to serotonin.
