Good that you care: There are some research efforts saying vitamins c, e and especially d may do some good things for artery health. Generally a low sugar, low salt diet is good. Aim for fruit ; veggie over meats - avoid processed food ; trans fat. Quit (or minimize) smoking. Exercise ; relaxation to keep stress down. All of these will do more for you than vitamin pills.

Not vitamins: Exercize, diet, non smoking, and cholesterol and BP and weight control are major features.

Yes-minerals too!: There is sound research showing that Vitamins C, D, E & K reduce risk of heart disease, as well as magnesium. If you have high homocysteine then Vit B6, B12, folic acid and trimethylglycine (which reduce homocysteine) can also help. See http://tinyurl.com/mwqln28 As my colleagues mention, a healthy diet, exercise & stress reduction are also important. See http://tinyurl.com/axtab4d
