A member asked:

Are non-contact tonometers (nct) reliable enough in determining iot? what does a nct value of 16 imply?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

generally useful: The 'gold' standard is the goldmann applanation tonometer. Nct's have been tested to compare with this standard and are generally reliable in good hands. A value of 16 is in the middle of the normal range and in the absence of any other issues, is a good place to be.
