Fibular fractures: A fracture of the fibula bone on the outside of the leg that is very thin and long and usually gets broken first in an ankle sprain. It breaks higher up depending on the force and direction of the rotation during injury. It could be close to the knee or above or at/below ankle , usually if at knee-high- is from foot turning outward and / or force on outside leg/ knee.
