Rapid progress: Acute leukemia develops over weeks to months. Symptoms can include fevers, fatigue, bone pain, easy bruising, shortness of breath and loss of appetite. The diagnosis is made with bloodwork and often a bone marrow biopsy. The good news is that the chance of survival has increased dramatically over the alst few decades.
