A member asked:

Why is this small light brownish lump (1cm) under my skin near my pubic region not going away? it's been 1+ year, it doesn't hurt and i can't pop it.

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Brownish Bump: A dermatofibroma is a round, brownish to purple growth commonly found on the legs and arms but can be found anywhere on the body. Dermatofibromas contain scar tissue and feel like hard lumps in the skin. We don't know why people grow dermatofibromas. Some may be caused by insect bites. They are harmless and never turn cancerous. However, to sure of the diagnosis the lesion must be seen in person.
