A member asked:

Ok to take fish oil, protein powder, creatine and lift weights which will increase testosterone if i am suffering from hair loss and want to prevent it?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

OK but won't help.: All of those things (or at least the weight lifting) will be good for your general health. Unfortunately, increasing testosterone won't affect hair loss, which has to do with the hormone receptors in the hair shafts themselves. The only proven hair loss preventatives are rogaine, (minoxidil) which is otc, and finasteride, a prescription med that your doctor can prescribe if you have no contraindications.
