Diurnal Mood Var: It is not uncommon to have a particular rough spot and early morning is often true for folk with fairly severe depressions. Possible reasons include blood sugar low point, waking to darkness, inadequate or troubled sleep, demands to face daily schedule, etc. Keeping a bowl of hard candy on bed table to grab one before even arising might help. Talk with a doctor or therapist for more ideas.
