I had foot surgery 18 days ago. 4-inch incision feels tight and dry, is there an ointment or oil i can put on it? neosporin? vitamin e? coconut oil?

silicone: I would certainly not use neosporin unless the wound is open and possibly infected. There is no good data on vitamin e and coconut oil despite the popular belief. However, there is good data on silicone containing products that are available over the counter. Two examples are kelocote and biocorneum gels.

Call your doctor: You should discuss this with your surgeon since there are many things you can use. But each doctor has there preferred medicine.

Incision: First see your surgeon to ensure the incision is healed and let him or her make a recommendation.
