A member asked:

What is the difference between rhinorrhea and rhinitis? are the symptoms different?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Symptoms overlap: Rhinorrhea is the medical term for a runny nose lots of watery or mucousy nasal discahrge. Typically this comes from a cold or allergies. Rhinitis is the term for inflammation and irritation of the lining of the nose which can also come from allergies or colds. The latter often gives you a stuffy nose or post nasal drip but it can also lead to rhinorrhea.
