Sun exposure: If the newborn is jaundiced you can expose him to sunlight to help reduce his elevated bilirubin. Be sure to shield his eyes.

Myth: Adequate sunlight exposure for white infant is 30 min. Per week clothed only in a diaper or 2 hours per week fully clothed with no hat.
