I have been having period irregularities for a couple of months, i am soaking a super tampon every 11/2 hours. is this hormonal imbalance?

Possibly: The treatment for hormone imbalance is hormones.... So you might consider trying birth control to see if it lightens and helps regulate your cycle. Most women find it to be very helpful in terms of addressing these issues. Speak with your doctor or clinic for advice. I typically start pts out on low-dose, 20mcg estrogen as a first line.
