Possibly: The treatment for hormone imbalance is hormones.... So you might consider trying birth control to see if it lightens and helps regulate your cycle. Most women find it to be very helpful in terms of addressing these issues. Speak with your doctor or clinic for advice. I typically start pts out on low-dose, 20mcg estrogen as a first line.

NOT NORMAL: Please call your gyn asap or go to er , could be hormones, must r/o preg misc, could be fibroids , polyps abnormal endometrial tissue, could be clotting abnormalities u need to get the bleeding stopped asap and have the cause worked up.
