Heavy menstruation: There are too many possibilities to even guess at the cause in any particular case, from minor hormone imbalance, pregnancy (e.g. miscarriage), STDs, and more. Anyone with abnormal vaginal bleeding of any kind, including heavier than normal periods, should be professionally evaluated. Call your doctor's office. With such heavy bleeding, you should be seen as soon as possible. Good luck!
