Taking penicillin vk 500mg to prevent infection from oral surgery. is it a broad or narrow spectrum antib? is chance of cdiff infec, great or less?

Good broad spectrum: Antibiotic, the chance of c diff is equal to taking other antibiotics. 500mg is not a big dose and therefore risk of c diff less with this doseage.

It exists: C. Diff is an opportunistic organism. That means that you may get an infection of other antibiotics have altered the balance of bacteria in your body. Short term treatment will probably not cause this, but long-term antibiotic treatment is more problematic. However, everything is a risk/ benefit issue. What is the risk of not taking antibiotics versus the benefits of doing so?
