Rest, Ice, Ibuprofen: The scapula is rarely broken and more commonly the fracture involves the collar bone. For true scapular fractures it depends on the location and if it is full or partial. In most cases, the heavy musculature provides support and the bone will heal by itself. Rest, ice, treatment of pain are the mainstays with also use of scheduled anti-inflammatory. A sling to limit mobility may also help.
