Yes: If u sprained your ankle ligament(s)it depends on the severity of the sprain. Generally an acute more severe ankle sprain can be tx. In a cam walker for 7-10 days followed by a period of mobilization/bracing and therapy. Severe( grade3.)ankle sprains may take 4-6 wks. To heal. See your ors.

Possible but ...: It's possible but the extent of the injury would determine how well or not things will heal without immobilization. Was there an MRI to confirm the rupture?
