I have been having tonsil issues and am getting them removed in a few months. but today they feel like they have fuzz in them- what could this be?

Swelling or 'exudate: The tonsils swelling up can give that puffy, 'fuzzy' feeling. Alternatively, if there is a current smoldering infection, the bacteria can produce a pus coating called an 'exudate' that gives that same 'fuzzy' feeling and you can sometimes actually see the whitish/gray coating on the tonsils.
