A member asked:

What is a sluggish gallbladder? is it serious? what to do about it?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Abnormal gb ; ducts: Acalculous cholecystitis is symptomatic ineffective contraction of the gallbladder in response to cck as seen on hida scan. Cholecystectomy may help. Sphincter of oddi dysfunction, or biliary dyskinesia, is defined by bile duct manometry showing sphincter spasm, altered propagation/increased phasic contraction frequency (tachyoddia), paradoxical contraction response to cck. Sphincterotomy helpful.
