A member asked:

I had an ekg . now my doctor is sending me to have an echocardiogram and holter monitor . was there something wrong with my ekg result ?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

abnormality: It is likely your doctor saw an abnormality in the rhythm on your ecg. An echo will evaluate the anatomy of your heart to determine if a structural or valve abnormality is present and causing the arrhythmia. The holter monitor is used to obtain a 24 hour or longer electrical recording of your heart's activity, much like an ecg. It can then be reviewed for occurrences of arrhythmia's.
