A member asked:

I saw my doctor and he said to take florinet and said to take potassium because it can get low with florinet is that true?

Yes: Florinef (fludrocortisone) is a mineralocorticoid that causes your body to retain salt and subsequently retain water. A side effect of the salt (sodium chloride) retention is potassium loss.

It may be true: Depends what was the initial reason for your dr to put you on Florinef (fludrocortisone) . If your na was too low or your BP was too low, yes you may get too low in potassium . If your potassium was too high that you should not take potassium supplements since it would undo what Florinef (fludrocortisone) is designed to do in the first place.
