A member asked:

Had a colostomy in january and my output was a bit thick and pasty but good volume and regularity. in august because of problems with expelling mucus?

Not sure: What your question is. Colostomy care should be addressed with your surgeon or a home health colostomy care nurse. Drink plenty of water to avoid constipation. Watch for fibrous stringy foods (raw celery) or irritating foods or vegetables (broccoli, asparagus). Ask your surgeon or family doctor for help.
