A member asked:

Should i buy a new pair of contact lenses if i catch cold or any kind of virus? do lenses get infected?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

virus: Some virus particles can stay alive for weeks attached to a surface. Theoretically, a virus that causes eye problems, such as certain forms of adenovirus, could stay alive on a contact lens-- so it is probably wise to switch to fresh contacts or wear glasses if you have any viral infection that affects your ear, nose, or eyes.
