After healing: You do not want to disturb the blood clot, so it is advisable to avoid gargling and swishing of liquids in that area for a few days. If you gently brush the rest of your teeth you should be fine. You don't want a dry socket !

after ext: I usually recommend warm salt water rinses 4x a day for 3 days starting the day after the ext then go back to the other rinses allow some healing to take place.
