A partial answer: Osteoarthritis (osteoarthrosis in the uk) is the most common type of arthritis. It is caused by the failure of multiple supporting tissues including cartilage, tendons, ligaments, bone, etc. There isn't any easy answer to your question. Maintaining a normal weight, and regular exercise help. If needed, medication can help. Acetaminophen is the safest medication to start.
