Skin cancer: You need a biopsy because you likely have a skin cancer that will need to be removed. Don't procrastinate and go see your dermatologist asap.

Excise changing mole: Any pigmented lesion that is larger than 6mm, changes color, itches, bleeds, has irregular borders with or without a personal or family history of melanoma should have the lesion biopsied. If possible most often these lesions undergo an excisional biopsy. See your local plastic surgeon or dermatologist to have it addressed soon.
