Acute Laryngitis: Is a viral illness, when viruses infect larynx, there is barking cough, hoarseness of voice, sometimes loss of voice, low grade fever. It is a disease of children, adults are not affected that much. If adult gets, milder similar symptoms occur. Treatment: humidified air/steam inhalation, more fluid intake, can use Vicks in vaporizer. Keep her home, keep other children away to prevent spread.
