Clavicle fracture: The doctor is right. It will take 6-8 weeks for the fracture to heal.

Yes: The clavicle is one of the most often broken bones in humans. It is somewhat encased in a fibrous sheath and is seldom broken into separate or overlapping parts except during major trauma. Pulling the shoulders backward tends to position it stretched to its proper length and position for healing.But many that are just cracked self heal with no intervention.A sling just reduces pain from overuse.
