Red ring from a child bite, is it okay?

Child bite: The redness is ok, it will ultimately fade. The question is was any skin broken during the bite. This could be a potential opening for infection. If so, otc antibacterial creams (ie: bacitracin) applied three times per day are sufficient. But if this doesn't help, the wound should be examined by a doctor to determine if prescription antibiotic is required.
