Not really-Antiviral: Well if you look at the definition, Valacyclovir (Valtrex) is a medicine that can inhibit the growth of viruses but the word antibiotic is usually reserved for those that destroy or inhibits the growth of bacteria. "an·ti·bi·ot·ic noun: antibiotic; plural noun: antibiotics a medicine (such as penicillin or its derivatives) that inhibits the growth of or destroys microorganisms ".
