Yes need to check: Dark brown urine of the type you describe is consistent with gross hematuria. This is never a normal finding. You are having bleeding either from the bladder, but more likely from the kidney. Glomerulonephritis need to be be considered and i suggest you see a nephrologist as soon as possible.
