A member asked:

What is gilbert's disease? can it present with itching or tea coloured urine? recently dx'd with this, can i cure it?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

No need: Gilbert's disease in a genetic disorder which can cause mild and clinically benign elevations in bilirubin on an intermittent basis. This can lead to tea colored urine. There is no cure but it is harmless. Jaundice, or elevated bilirubin can occur during periods of illness or stress, dehydration, exercise or at random. No need to worry. Itching is a side effect of elevated bilirubin.
