Can certain addictions lead to more hardcore addictions?

Good question: Any addiction in and of itself can be a "hardcore addiction" any! some people have "hard core" marijuana addictions, thats all they do and it has created massive havoc in their lives. All addictions tend to progress with time, people start "uping the ante" , alcohol use increases, marijuana use increases, or they move to heroin, first smoking then iv. So some may cause quicker results however.
