Eye chemical burns: In the eye a chemical burn may indicate anything from minor irritation to significant visual loss. Usually patients with acid burns are better off than alkali burns due to the depth of penetration with alkali burns. Deep scarring much less with acid burns and prognosis is better with acid burns of the eye.
