A member asked:

Can i know if darkened skin from chemical burn like benzoyl peroxide will be able to heal on its own and return to the same skin tone as the surrounding skin ? how long does it usually take to heal or is it permanent ?

Moisturizers help: When acne creams or gels are strong on the face, and there is facial inflammation, twice a day moisturizing cream helps. Such patients may find that over-the-counter hydrocortisone cream twice a day for one week, can also help. One can talk with one's primary care doctor or a dermatologist, to get more help if worried. Life is not so predictable. Skin darkening sometimes take years to fade.
