A member asked:

How is dust removed from the body?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

GI tract: Dust that gets into your mouth and is swallowed is eliminated by normal GI tract motility and digestion. Dust that you inhale will be trapped by the lining of the breathing tubes and is carried towards the pharynx by constant ciliary action from where it is swallowed and eliminated by the GI tract. The eye flushes dust into the throat by tear and lid action and the nose has flushing action also.
