Yes: Other common causes of feeling of tightness affecting swallowing or breathing( dysphagia or dyspnea ) are allergies with post nasal drip and acid reflux which may occur without heartburn. Thyroid can be evaluated with ultrasound and allergies or reflux with over the counter medications from pharmacy.
