Splenectomy: Hopefully he has received pneumococcal vaccine. Regardless, since he is at very high risk of sepsis, he should go to an er immediately and be evaluated and treated if necessary. Do not delay, overwhelming infection can create severe damage or death in patients without a spleen. Hope this is nothing serious and he is better soon.
