COUGH, LOW GRADE: Fever, diminished appetite are signs of viral infection. I assume, the pediatrician mentioned some inflammation of 'lung', not spleen. As long as he is drinking well, not to worry. If not better in 5-7 days, or any worsening, check with the pediatrician. Tip: to get more accurate answer, mention country/ city/region/race, etc. (splenic enlargement is common in sickle cell disease/african race, etc).
