Torus Palantini: Hello, the lump you are describing sounds like a torus palantini these are benign bony growths that commonly occur on the hard palate. See your dentist or doctor for confirmation but most torus are best left alone.

Torus palatinus: It is fairly simple to remove this. Commonly the gum tissue over the top is thin and can get easily traumatized. Removing the torus can make patients more comfortable. Have your dentist refer you to an oral surgeon to look at it.
