A member asked:

What is the maximum amount of 99 mg potassium tablets to take daily?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

depends : It depends on your renal function, what other medications you take, your size, and what your serum potassium is. There are 750 mg in 10 meq. A typical medical dose is 20 meq (1500 mg). You should never take more than 40 meq (3, 000 mg) at a time. 99 mg is available over the counter because the dose is so small, it's like eating some spinach. (1 cup=167 mg).
