A member asked:

What is the difference between zoloft (sertraline) and venaflaxine?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Both antidepressants: Both are antidepressants that work on different neurotransmitters associated with the development of depression; serotonin, Dopamine and norepinephrine. Zoloft is an ssri. Inhibits serotonin from being taking up by the nerve so it circulates in the system longer. Venlafexine (effexor) is a snri. It is a serotonin, norepinephrine inhibitor.
