What does a transrectal ultrasound feel like?

2nd hand impression:: There seems to be a rather mild degree of discomfort on insertion of the probe. Depending on the size of the prostate there may be mild discomfort as the probe is manipulated during the exam. I would say a more intense version of a digital (finger) exam of the prostate.
