Does confinement to wheelchair cause same deconditioning as bedrest?

Dr. Gary Wang answered

deconditioning: Wheelchair confinement may definitely reduce your active activation and induce deconditioning . However, it is better than bedrest. To prevent decondition, you should do what ever you can do, and try to perform more active movement and exercise as your body permits.
