Latex allergy: The doctor should always do a bimanual exam when you have your annual, so if the gloves were made of latex and you are allergic to adhesives, you could have a latex allergy. You can use cool compresses and oral antihistamines like Cetirizine or fexfenadine or Benadryl (diphenhydramine) for the itching and swelling, and or soak in a warm bath (not too hot). See an allergist for definitive diagnosis and advice.
