Itching post Pap: You may be allergic to doctors gloves- latex or something they cleansed you with or the pap scrapper itself. Report to your doctor and ask if gloves were latex or if any wash solution was used or introduced into vagina. If you have a antihistamine tablet at home, you might take it tonight to see if it helps.Try sitting in warm tub and rinsing out vagina area or baking soda douch.Tyelenol for pain.

Latex allergy: The doctor should always do a bimanual exam when you have your annual, so if the gloves were made of latex and you are allergic to adhesives, you could have a latex allergy. You can use cool compresses and oral antihistamines like Cetirizine or fexfenadine or Benadryl (diphenhydramine) for the itching and swelling, and or soak in a warm bath (not too hot). See an allergist for definitive diagnosis and advice.
