Bland diet: The important distinction with diarrhea involves the presence of blood in the stool. If blood is present you may have a bacterial enteritis and should see your dr for stool culture. If simply crampy watery diarrhea, it will often respond to bland diet (no juice, no dairy) or brat diet (banana, rice, applesauce, toast. See doctor for severe pain, blood in stool, or persists > 3 days.
