Free clinic: You might need to look for a free clinic or a county hospital to be evaluated to see why your tongue and throat swell up. If it causes you to have difficulty breathing, just call 911 or go to the nearest ed.

Meds: Some meds, includingBenadryl, are available OTC for modest cost. The best thing to do is find out what is causing swelling and treat the cause. For that you need to see a Physician or ENT specialist. Social Services may be able to direct you to low cost clinics.
