Acute tonsillitis : Sounds like an acute bacterial infection of tonsils with enlarged lymph nodes in the neck. You should see a doctor and get a rapid strep test, regular throat culture, and maybe a mono test too. You likely will require antibiotic therapy, and possibly pain medication.
