See below: When you start your menstrual period, a new egg is developing into a follicle or cyst. This cyst produces estrogen which makes your lining grow. About 2 weeks later, your egg releases. The cyst now produces progesterone. If you dont get pregnant the Progesterone decreases and you start a new menstrual period. If pos pregnant, then no period.
