Permanent? No!: Some? Yes. But the longer you stay away from cigarettes, cigars, hookah, 2nd hand smoke, other illicit drugs etc, the better off you'll be. Some studies suggest that quitting at 80yo can be helpful (although clearly not as helpful as if quit at 15yo). Best is to never smoke at all but we can't go backwards in time. But since that was 5yrs ago, time to stop worrying ; being terrified. Time to live.
