Can't stereotype: We can't stereotype viruses and say they all won't go away. If you catch the flu virus, you get very sick for a week, but the virus goes away after that. If you catch hepatitis a and turn yellow for several weeks, the virus will still go away when you get well. So, some strains of hpv tend to go away. The strains that "act badly" are the strains that tend to stick around and cause warts ; cancer.
